The Effects of Weather
The weather is unpredictable. No matter where you are in the world, the weather is unpredictable, and we have no control over it. When it comes to living or working in a condition that is powered off of solar energy it can be quite concerning at times. Depending on the situation with the weather, be prepared to expect some damage. Regardless of your situation and how everything is setup for your home, you still need to expect the unexpected when it comes to the solar panels, or even just the roof.
When it comes to being in Texas, of course, we get more sunny days than anything else, along with the occasional cloudy days, rain, and strong winds. But rare occasions, we do experience harsh hailstorms, which is our kryptonite when it comes to having solar panels. Depending on the size of the hail and the speed of the wind, more than likely you won’t have to worry about seeing damages to your panels or roof. However, if the weather takes a turn and the hail is much larger than what you were expecting, be aware that you may see damages to your panels and/or your roof. Solar panels will still continue to work if damage is taken, however it will not operate to its full capacity. If you notice your solar panels are not working as efficiently, get your panels inspected and take proper precautions.
Texas weather is no joke. But no matter what time of year it is and how the weather is looking your solar panels will continue to work and strive for you when you need it the most. Just watch out for that hail and be aware of what damages you may end up seeing from it.
